THE BUSY BEES

Welcome to the Busy Bees Classroom! In the Busy Bees room, we provide your toddler with an opportunity to develop friendships, self-esteem, and curiosity. Our program will help them explore their world in a safe and nurturing environment. Weather permitting, outdoor play occurs twice a day, both morning and afternoon, to provide children with fresh air, a connection with nature and opportunities for large muscle activities.

Our philosophy is that children learn best through hands-on experiences. In our program, each day is filled with fun activities that excite and help toddlers develop in ways that give them the comfort and confidence to grow and develop both cognitively and socially

The Toddler Program Features:

  • A perfect balance of nurturing, playtime, and learning each day
  • Regular teacher-family communication, including daily updates to keep you informed
  • Learning areas focused on dramatic play, mathematics, creative arts, language, and sensory exploration
  • Daily group activities that help boost your child’s social skills
  • Age appropriate materials and equipment that support learning and development
  • Observation-based assessments that track your child’s progress toward developmental milestones
  • Portfolios that document growth and development

What to expect in the Busy Bees Room!

Throughout each day, our five areas of focus give your toddler endless opportunities to learn and grow.

Communication
We use storytelling and word games to help your child practice imitating and responding asking questions, and following simple directions; provide practice naming familiar items; and support rich vocabulary development.

Brain Development
We provide opportunities to identify basic colors and shapes; bring concepts of cause-and-effect to life through storytelling, music, and art; and model and encourage your child to practice sorting and matching.

Relationship Building
We encourage interactions with other children in group activities; guide the development of sharing and listening skills; model how to express emotions appropriately; and guide your child to learn classroom routines.

Healthy Living
We teach body parts through stories, songs, and rhyme; promote self-care skills such as feeding, cleaning, and dressing; and support large motor development and eye-hand coordination through a variety of activities such as kicking balls, tossing, drawing, painting.

Creativity
We provide paint, crayons and other tools that promote artistic exploration and creativity; support imaginative play with photo cards and puppets; and encourage self-expression through music and movement. In addition, we encourage pretending and role-playing through play with props; support individual expression through participation in group activities; and promote self-expression through art and music.
